Sir:

Two days ago the Miracle Mart and The Big “G”, both discount houses, opened to the public. This morning I hear on the news that the managers of both stores have been arrested for non-possession of a patent drug license, and the statement that in two weeks more arrests will be made.

In my travels I have had occasion to note the animosity between all discount houses and the local businessmen. I may be chasing a poltergeist here, but it seems strange to me that Connecticut’s first discount houses are not open for two days and already action is taken against them; while at the same time all other businessmen are “warned” that they have two weeks in which to get their licenses straightened out.

I may be wrong, sir, but I think I smell a rat.

Cordially yours,
R.G. Williscroft
