‘MINOR’ RELIGION?

Editor, The Times:

From an article on December 27 we learned that Madallyn Murray O’Hair again has taken up her fight against the Christian religion. This time she extends the campaign against religion into outer space.

She claims that Christianity is a minor religion and that there are more Moslems and Hindus than Christians. If this is so, why doesn’t Mrs. O’Hair try to prevent the Moslems and Hindus from worshiping their gods?

This desire to do away with Christianity is not new. In Biblical times, we find that there are records of the same. It might be well if Mrs. O’Hair would heed the advice given by the Biblical sage, Gamaliel. Chapter 5 of the Book of Acts tells how people of that day hated the Christian religion and tried to interfere with the preaching of its adherents. Verses 34 to the end of the chapter are interesting and Verses 38 and 39 contain Gamaliel’s wise advice.

The astronauts who prayed and read passages from the Bible while in outer space are to be commended for so doing. We need not fear if we recognize and believe Exodus 33:14.
